AIO64 4.2.8-1 Crashing on exit

David L McMurray

Sent this a few days ago when source forge was having issues, so trying it again.

Thanks.

After installing 4.2.8-1 AIO64 on my Windows 7 Home system, I get the following crash report from Windows when I exit Gramps normally (with the “X”, but also with Family Trees>Quit). I’ve tried uninstalling it, deleting most of the files, and reinstalling but still get the error. I normally see Autobackup on the status line. Never pursued where to look to see if Autobackup is completing. I don’t get any error within Gramps. Anyone else seen it or got any ideas? Don’t mind filing a bug report if necessary.

Thanks,

Dave

Re: AIO64 4.2.8-1 Crashing on exit

David L McMurray

Paul,

Thanks for the suggestion. I remember reading of this on 4.2.6. Unfortunately, this happens when I open Gramps, wait a minute or so, then exit without doing anything. Tried running it from the console shortcut. The console windows closes with no error displayed, but Windows still logs the error. As best I can determine, it doesn’t seem to be hurting anything.

Thanks,

Dave

FYI I've seen similar if I backup on 4.2.6 and immediately exit.  I presume that the backup is running in the background and doesn't cope when the rug is pulled out from under it.  Suggest that Gramps should wait to exit until the backup has completed, putting up a pop-up with the option of cancelling the back-up if required.
