Please excuse me if this question has already been answered. I did a search for this topic and couldn't find anything that answered my question.
I am currently using GRAMPS 3.2 in Ubuntu 10.04LTS. I have used Family Tree Maker in Windows and Reunion in Macintosh for several years. They have the ability to autofill names when you start typing them. Is there a way to do this in GRAMPS? For example, I have several relatives from Weakley County, TN. It is a very slow process to have to find "Weakley County, TN" from a list every time I enter a new relative. It would be nice if GRAMPS would autofill that info for me. Thanks for any help, and I apologize again if this has already been discussed. Roy A. Milner A very simple way: Open the Clipboard (in 3.3.1 Edit=>Clipboard. I think it's slightly different in 3.2). Click on Places and find your Weakley County in the list. Drag it onto the Clipboard. Enter the data for your new relative. When you enter the new Event (birth, etc.) drag "Weakley County" from the clipboard and drop it on top of the Place line. Let go. Done. Leave the Clipboard as it is and for the next relative, drag and drop again........
