Re: Gramps-devel Digest, Vol 13, Issue 2

Andreas K.-2
Hi,

If no one else steps forward, I am willing to take over as the official maintainer of the Swedish translation of GRAMPS. However, as I am quite busy right now (I will get married this summer) I do not have time to take over until after the summer.

I am using GRAMPS on Windows. I hope it will be no problem with that?

Regards,
Andreas

Great news!

Congratulations!

Whenever you are ready, go through this page for basic information

It should not be a problem. In theory, you don't have to use gramps at
all to translate it, but in practice it helps to use it because you
will know a lot of context. The platform should not matter though.

Alex

hmm, I'd like to meet a women that gives you more time after marriage than
before. Are you sure you're from earth?

Translation should not be much work up to the point 3.0 is in beta as not many
new strings are added, so I'm sure you will have no problems. Using windows,
I'd be more worried about good translation tools (for gettext based
apps), hope
they exist on your platform (notepad looks inappropriate to me ;-) ).

http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/ is a good "open" alternative to
notepad :)

Has anyone ever needed anything else but Emacs? Emacs runs on Windows... :-)
