Ron Johnson
Hi,

Being that both the text and gzipped versions are about 50% larger than the
xml version, what's it's purpose of being?

Thanks

The JSON import and export are third-party addons.  They have known bugs
in v4.2 and don't include metadata.

I suggest you use XML instead which is part of Gramps core and is fully
supported.

Nick.
