Hi,
Using Ubuntu 12.04 on a laptop, there is a few time, I installed Xfce4,
and then Xubuntu 16.04
Under 12.04, I used 3.4.9
After the upgrade, Gramps 4.2.2 has been installed.
No problem except I update the base to work with the 4.2.2 version.
Today, I update the plugins and after that, I had the message:
no Error found, probably error in gpr.py file
Launching from a terminal, I saw this message:
2017-05-10 21:05:13.517: WARNING: _manager.py: line 276: Plugin error
(from 'graphview'): Namespace GooCanvas not available
I then tried to install python-goocanvas and graphviz
These packs were already at the newest version:
sudo apt-get install python-pygoocanvas graphviz
Lecture des listes de paquets... Fait
Construction de l'arbre des dépendances
Lecture des informations d'état... Fait
python-pygoocanvas is already the newest version (0.14.1-1.1ubuntu1).
graphviz is already the newest version (2.38.0-12ubuntu2.1).
I notice that, comparing with 3.4.9, I have lost the graphic view
Is-there a way to repair it ?
Could it be solved removing Gramps, and installing again, after having
cleaned the used folders ?
Thanks
A+

That's the OpenSUSE package name, not the Ubuntu/Debian name. Try
installing "gir1.2-goocanvas-2.0".

It has been like that for at least two years. (The top of the thumbnails protrude outside the boxes). It doesn't look pretty. but I live with it. ;-)
