search function missing

hello out there!

i'm missing a search function in gramps to search for peoples with specific
names or details (...)!
so i'd ask you if there is one i still haven't found. maybe i'm blind...

There are filters in the people view (View->Filter to enable/disable
the controls). They include pre-set filters as well as custom filters
(created by user, if any). The preset filters contain two that search
through all textual records -- one is for simple substring match,
and another one for regexp match.

You may also create sophisticated filters in the Custom Filter editor
(under Tools->Utilities menu). Whatever you create should appear in
the filter menu in the People View.
