But it was really a proof of concept... the idea of having a Twitter Query/Insert into your open Gramps Database is a little silly :) -Doug > > -- > un blog cool > http://journal.doutreleau.fr > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Better than sec? (I see why I never made it available.. it requires your password/twitter ID, and also an official Twitter account that is approved to be an application. Twitter (at least last year) was not set up for open source projects, as you have to embed the keys in the source, but you are not allowed to distribute the keys; catch 22!) > -Doug > >> >> -- >> un blog cool >> http://journal.doutreleau.fr >> >> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ >> Better than sec? I also found the presentation that I gave at RootsTech for this, the
winning entry in the Developer's Mashup Challenge: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B1fzm33pQb4SNmJiMmY4MzgtZGI2ZS00ZjM3LWI4YjMtZTEzN2ZmYmY4NWE1&authkey=CNSBobkP The basic premise was to allow people to share genealogy data peer-to-peer without having to go through a company or other managed gateway. And I always wanted to work a dog-in-a-wig into a presentation. I think the organizers viewed the dog+wig combo and gramps+tweet combo similarly... -Doug On Thu, Apr 19, 2012 at 11:32 AM, Doug Blank <[hidden email]> wrote: > On Wed, Apr 18, 2012 at 2:32 PM, Doug Blank <[hidden email]> wrote: >> On Wed, Apr 18, 2012 at 2:21 PM, Eric doutreleau <[hidden email]> wrote: >>> >>> Hi >>> I have seen this page on the gramps wiki >>> http://www.gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php?title=Gramps-tweet >>> But the addons is not available anymore. >>> >>> what is the status of this addon that seems so cool? :) >> >> I'll have to poke around a bit to find out where the latest version went. >> >> But it was really a proof of concept... the idea of having a Twitter >> Query/Insert into your open Gramps Database is a little silly :) > > Found it... attached, you'll find the source code.
